Spirits in my artwork?
I have begun painting roughly three months ago, never painted before , no training etc.
I paint with only my fingers and usually do a painting within five minutes, ranging from 9x12 to 36x36 in size, no matter what size though it is always around same time frame.
When I do these painting I seem to be super aware, connected, somewhat detached and in mild trance.
If I try to paint I CANNOT paint, at all...I also cannot destroy the process, once I took a painting, I smeared it but inside me I heard/felt the word "trust" so I put the canvas board in a sink soaked it then rubbed it and when I came back to it later it was a perfect scenery of a forest, I have done this several times in front of others as well to verify this happens.
In the ultimately fast almost chaotic painting session, I could be paiting one way but the final product will appear the opposite direction,,i.e upside down. Also when I paint I never ever ever have an objective, goal, I simply let my fingers flow so it seems most of the times the paintings are in the main painting...sometimes ten paintings in one and no matter which way your turn painting
In almost every single painting there are faces, religious figures, types, showing extremes of good (angels) sometimes to downright evil...waterfalls,caves,water,skies, spirits... most of these things that appear are the size of a matchstick and many are perfect portraits.
I always have been spiritual, and have been praying for God to show me my path.
So with all that said:
Are spirit (s) doing this
If so, why?
If so what do I do with it?
I did not add a link to my work as I did not know if it was allowed.
Please help..

Hello Ronnie,
Are you able to post a painting using the insert image icon? It would be interesting to see!
How do you know when you are finished with a painting?

Re: Spirits in my artwork?
anyone wish to comment, please? Do you think these images are spirits, or is this an aspect of art I am unaware of? Any artists here?

Re: Spirits in my artwork?
Hi Ronnie,
Your link seems to have disappeared which is a pity. Can you repost it?
I looked at your paintings and was most impressed. They seemed to me to be the expressions of a strong creative impulse but whether they are generated by your own inner self or whether your hands are guided by a discarnate influence it would be impossible for me to say. I do believe that many creative artists are in touch with a reality greater than themselves and you could perhaps yourself ask the spiritual realms to provide information on the matter. I thought that overall there was an artistic integrity to the images, the sense of a common source, and the lovely and varied effects of colour were highly suggestive of spiritual influence. I do hope that you will continue with the work and I think you will find greater recognition as you proceed.

Re: Spirits in my artwork?
Can anyone give feedback?
A concern I have is how do I know if they are in fact spirits, how do I know if they are good or bad? Is there a way to know? If it is not from Gd then I do not want it.
Also if they are spirits manifesting through the art, which at this point I really believe, is it wrong to sell these paintings?
Please help, I am really in a state of confusion

Re: Spirits in my artwork?
Hi Ronnie,
That latest link worked for me. I am impressed with the paintings they remind me a lot of some of the earliest Spirit Art which was very abstract to. I think you should just go along with the experience and see where it takes you.
As to selling them I think that may just be a matter of considering your needs, I doubt it would be wrong to do this.

Re: Spirits in my artwork?
What do you mean when you say "earliest spirit art" ? Any references or links to such?

Re: Spirits in my artwork?
As an example there is this from the very influential Spiritualist Giorgiana Houghton. The exhibition has been running in Melbourne.
http://artguide.com.au/articles-page/show/believe-not-every-spirit-but-try-the-spirits-2. This is another of her paintings
At the start of the 1860's the first recorded art was similar, produced by Mrs. Wilkinson, the wife of one of the early UK mediums, Giorgiana heard of this in 1861 and began to produce her own artworks from that time. It is hard to find much about Mrs Wilkinson apart from references that her work and Houghton's was similar although I have not seen any images of her actual work.
It would be well worth your while downloading this book because , although its about Spirit Photography and has many brilliant examples of this work, it highlights her dedication to Spirit. http://www.spiritarchive.org/uploads/1/2/4/7/12470836/georgiana_houghton_-_chronicles_of_the_photographs_of_spiritual_beings-1882-296ppcol.pdf
It seems likely that the first person to draw images of people was Wella Anderson an American who also drew other type of pictures like this
This is one of the guides from a group known as The Ancient Spirit Band
Then in 1920 came the work of Ethel Rossignol http://www.thehorsehospital.com/past/the-chamber-of-pop-culture-past/a-goodly-company-ethel-le-rossignol/ the paintings reside in the College of Psychic Studies wher our friend and the founder of Psypioneer Leslie Price is the archivist. At the time of the exhibition Lis , I and some other researchers delved much more deeply into the work and life of Rossignol the entire set of paintings were published in a very expensive and rare book which I for one would love to own because the story and certain of the non abstract pictures resonate for me.
Its a broad area with also the work of Victorien Sardou whose paintings appear in Kardec's Genesis
but in reality like those of Helene Smith these were more likely to be the work of the individuals own subconscious Flournoys investigation of Helene can be read here http://sacred-texts.com/ufo/ipm/index.htm From India to the Planet Mars by Théodore Flournoy Flammarions thoughts on both his own drawing and Sardous work can be found here, another worthwhile download.

Hi Ronnie,
Coincidentally I just received a link to this blog which I subscribe to

This is about Flournoy's work on the Helene Smith mediumship.

Re: Spirits in my artwork?
I tried the 'painted spirit' link shown a few messages above: nothing came up for me.
Left Behind
Exact same thing has happened to me in the last year
Just not finger painting. Mine is acrylic, I've got Angels and what seems to be evil things in the paintings
