The funerals of the old days!
It was a competion among the neighbours who spent the most money on the old man's funeral.
I remember going with my hubby to prearrange our funerals,he was quite shocked at how much it was going to cost.

'A cardboard coffin will do me!' he told the undertaker.

After I dragged him out in disgrace.........................!

I've donated the remains to a University, so this is of no concern.

There is an old saying, a truism from what I hear, and one used often by oor clergymen: 'There's merr fun at a Glesga funeral than there is at an Edinburgh wedding'

I can imagine,never been to a Scottish funeral but been to a Scottish wedding.
