Going off topic is not necessary. There is plenty to discuss in Spiritualism without dragging in extraneous matter.

Of course there is Z
Can I ask - isn't your original post a 'copy and paste' from the contents of a PDF file originally posted on 'The Voice' website - are you the author - Just curious?

Not at all - it's the other way round! Frank Brown of 'The Voice' website always sought my permission before quoting anything I had written.

Ah, thank you Z, so you 'are' the author... I thought so! Of course the next question is, why don't you ever add yourself to the credits? I've read this and many others which I'm certain you penned (which I have enjoyed I might add) - yet there is no accreditation or reference?

Self praise is no recommendation!

Self Praise'? That was a bit presumptuous of you.... despite my enjoying them, others may not and wish to know where to throw the tomatoes

As Clark Gable said to Vivien Leigh in "Gone With The Wind":
"Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn"

Can't generalise I know but the Native Americans I met on visits to USA were running Bingo Halls, Casinos or Gift Shops.
When we went to Lily Dale last there was a dearth of old lady mediums....
'They're off to the Indian Bingo' we were told.
Sort of in keeping with Medium/Red Indian liaison tradition I suppose.
Unfortunately we no longer have a copy of the cartoon of the North American Indians holding a Seance in a Tepee when the medium's guide has materialised, bowler hat and bag of tools, the medium is saying do not fear it is my guide Mr Golightly a plumber from Runcorn.

Oh just a thought, I notice Katy keeps mentioning Jack Hunters Paranthropology Journal ( http://paranthropologyjournal.weebly.com/ ) which is quite good (Jack is actually a forum member who appears on here occasionally). Sadly I note his support of a well known physical medium who fails to answer questions but who, apparently, agreed to new security measures recently in California.

Re: Barbanell's Own Obituary
Of course Jack Hunters Paranthropology Journal goes well beyond Spiritualism into all the other ideas people love to explore. It also supports heavily the group of new Physical Mediums who many seem to find to be controversial, the latest edition merely suggests they are a continuation of the tradition.
Read the magazine with antenna aquiver to reject the things that do not resonate, which to me ends up being quite a bit. Articles like putting the PSI back into Psychedelic may paint somewhat of a picture of the ground covered with UFO's and Crop Circles.

I hope the medium said things like "heapum big" and "white man's medicine hat".

Re: Barbanell's Own Obituary
The medium was happy to pay he was charging like a wounded bull $150 per seat at the seance, guaranteed minimum of 35 attendees. $5,250 for a nights work Heapum big ! Understand he learnt that income trick from a Pom in Sydney.
