EMDR & Induced After Death Communication IADC
Induced After Death Communication:
The second type of after death communication experience I want to mention briefly today is called ‘induced’ after death communication. Here a specific technique is utilized, which enables a person to move into a state of awareness wherein an after death communication occurs.
The technique was pioneered by Dr Allan Botkin a psychologist who discovered the procedure quite by accident in 1995 while assisting veteran’s of the Vietnam War deal with their grief and trauma due to the death of their fellow soldiers and friends.
Botkin used a process where he could induce the REM rapid eye movement state as everyone usually experiences during sleep. The difference here is that the person is still awake and this is when the induced after death communication experience takes place.
Many see people who are in Spirit just like they were here on earth only usually they look much younger. They converse with them and are often times hugged by them. The deceased are seen in three dimensional form, in colour, and seemingly vibrantly alive. About a third report hearing the audible voice of the deceased and almost all the rest say that although they did not hear the voice, they had an experience of heart-to-heart communication during which they felt in meaningful contact with the departed person.
Used as a therapeutic technique the approach works on virtually everyone no matter what their religious belief is and the experience always has a lasting good effect on the patient. Very few, if any, atheists remain atheists after going through the procedure.
It is clear that the people are not merely hallucinating. Dr Botkin was training another psychologist to induce the after death communication state, and the psychologist had the same experience as the patient. He relaxed and used the rapid eye movement technique as Dr Botkin was putting his patient into the required state of consciousness. The psychologist saw the exact same thing as the patient did.
Now two people cannot hallucinate the same thing and in this case the trainee psychologist had no previous knowledge of the people that the patient was grieving over and communicated with during this experience.
Perhaps in time Dr Botkin’s technique and his discovery of a way to lift the veil and allow us to see into that world of spirit will become more widely known and many more people will begin to experience a meeting with their loved ones after death. The approach has significant therapeutic and spiritual implications for how grief and trauma may be understood and treated. It also has immense potential for eventually providing scientific evidence of life after death.
In spontaneous and induced after death communication experiences there is a direct connection occurring between the deceased person and the living one. The person in spirit is known to them, there is an emotional bond or relationship of some kind. In spontaneous occurrences it seems that it is the deceased person who is initiating the communication while in the induced approach it is the living that are in some manner reaching out to make contact with the dead.
Thanks fpr this excellent piece in a talk made by my wife Lis, about After Death Communications without mediums. in 2005 at Unley Spiritualist's

Re: EMDR & Induced After Death Communication IADC
interesting stuff, Jim
Twenty years on, though, I wonder if there's been any advancement in using his technique other than for helping in trauma cases.
It does seem barmy that if trans-dimensional communication can be established so readily by using Botkin's technique that it's not also being used simply to demonstrate - at least on a personal level - what we Spiritualists know from our own sources.
It would need, of course, trained practitioners but Botkin suggests it wouldn't be hard to train them. It would also first need practitioners to actually want to "spread the word" of survival the way Spiritualism tries to do.
Were there such practitioners it would change the direction of spirit communication from one of spirit initiated to that of seeker initiated communication. Evidential mediums would be out of a job!! lol
