Australian Census 2011
From abc.net.au
Hinduism is the fastest growing religion, but most people still call themselves Christian, although the figure has dropped from 64 per cent in 2006 to 61 per cent last year.
According to the census, the proportion of people who reported no religious affiliation has increased from 18.7 per cent in the 2006 census to 22.3 per cent last year.
That group has now eclipsed Anglicans (17.1 per cent), while just over a quarter of the population identify themselves as Catholic.
(No mention of Spiritulaist numbers, or Jedi for that matter)

Re: Australian Census 2011
That's interesting Wes.
Catholicism.
It has never changed has it?
Remembering the 1960's,I would say there was say half of the population around Brisbane was Catholic.
Wonder if it is still the same.
There were an awful of Italians there who belonged to the Catholic religion.

Re: Australian Census 2011
Some more detail on the "minor" faiths has come to light:
Figures released to Lateline from the Australian Census show that in 2011, just 2,163 Australians called themselves Scientologists, a decrease of 13.7 per cent from the 2006 census....The number of Pantheists went up by 35 per cent, while the Rastafarian movement increased by 30 per cent.
Australians who describe themselves as Jedis now number over 65,000, over 30 times higher than Scientology's figures.
Wiccans, who dabble in witchcraft, have topped 8,000.
