The exact same applies in Spiritual Healing.

These things are heavily influenced by the Soul qualities of recipients and to the extent they strive to grow Spiritually. We have to earn all that we wish to acquire and matters Spiritual are no exception. The Healer or Medium will try their utmost to relay the information/ healing energies to the seeker but they cannot reach that which is beyond them.

Developing 'soul qualities' are no secret - simply put others before yourself and help the less fortunate, of which there are many in various life-forms. Try to help those and achieve growth. This has been said so many times in so many ways, yet this simple, vital message pointing the way to all who search for it, seems to constantly be missed completely in the rush for Mediumistic Communication. Silver Birch constantly urged the readers to 'give service' where and when they could, as did other guiding influences.

Guides know only too well of the Soul opportunities that Earth Life presents to the searching Soul amid their myriad of restrictions and difficulties, but they know too, that once we leave here, those opportunities all but cease and then we are stuck with what we have earned up to that point. Regret for lost or missed chances will surely follow.

This is the eternal message from the Higher Side - our future is firmly and completely in our present hands. Reading books and singing hymns will not take us very far by themselves - our thoughts and deeds are what really count.

Agree in principle h but in practice someone can be in a meeting in a depressed or grief stricken state and get super evidence on a first visit knowing nothing at all about Spiritualism whilst the in tune spiritual person with a CSNU or similar on the next row gets nowt. Totally agree with you about service being the defining benchmark for Spiritualism NOT messages. Those are the jam on the bread. The bread is service. No service to others, no Spiritualism.
