Spiritualism plus [enter name of practice/belief here]??
Can Spiritualism mix with other religions/beliefs/practices successfully? I have practiced Reiki in the past (not actively at the moment) and sometimes do the odd tarot reading for myself. Do such practices go against Spiritualism? I don't think that they do, but I'd like to know what others here think.

Spiritualism has no dogma, so feel free to explore what you find of interest.
I believe the 'Liberty of lnterpretatiion' of the Principles was withdrawn sometime ago - a backward step - as attempts at control were stealthily introduced, starting with the 'catch-all' rules in the 1980's.

Spiritualism plus tea and cake.
A happy combination.
[I'm off to our mid week tea meeting in a mo]
Seriously.
We attract those who are inquisitive and who tend to be more open minded than other denominational 'norms' so lots of permutations of Spiritualism plus additional faith and/or practice pathways [head hunting cults and black magic apart not to mention those Methodists :-) ]. It's all good if Spirit deigns to use it.

Tea Meeting
Tea,biscuits, good old gossip, lovely old girl demming an interesting trance lecturette plus a few links to follow. Pound for the raffle and a collection.
What a bargain!
Decent turnout too.
It's nice to be on hols to get to afternoon gigs. Ome of the older end won' come out to evening meetings so its a lifeline for them.

Oooh, I love a good cuppa and cake
I'm glad that I live in a time and a country where different ideas and beliefs can be explored without fear of being an outcast, or called a devil-worshipper or being burned at the stake as a witch or any other horrible thing that could happen.

I'd say that Spiritualism can mix with other religions, with no religion at all, or can be its own religion.
I regard myself as a Christian and a Spiritualist.

I agree Jim and those who have insights and experience in and from other traditions all bring gifts into Spiritualism so it kinda builds up over time. The whole becoming greater than the sum of all parts somehow.

What no ducking stools, not even in the remoter Northern Territories or Melbourne suburbs?
There are still stocks on the green in the village next to ours.
Sadly underused these days.
