Hi From Portland, Oregon
Hi everyone, I just joined this forum today. I'm from Portland, Oregon. There are 3 Spiritualist churches in our area; Spirit Guided Friends Church in S.E. Portland, Alice Street Spiritualist Church in S.W. Portland, and Camp New Era in Canby, Oregon.

Welcome to the forum eirefox. Camp New Era sounds interesting. Is it like Lily Dale and residential?

Re: Hi From Portland, Oregon
There are some small homes at Camp New Era. I love Camp New Era. I've actually only visited there a couple of times. It has an old hotel and some homes. It's out in the country. The best reading I ever received was at Camp New Era.

Re: Hi From Portland, Oregon
Welcome, Eirefox! And you're lucky about the number of churches there: nothing here in New Orleans.

Shame Camp New Era doesn't seem to have a website. Do you have contact details for anyone there eirefox? I'll write to them if you have. I'm collecting info on Spiritualist camps in hopes that one day we could have one in England. PM me if you do, no problem if not.

Camp New Ear Information
Hi Katy,
The only contact information I have for Camp New Era:
Name: New Era Christian Spiritualist Church
Street: 10244 South New Era Road
Canby, or 97013-7770
Phone: (503) 266-9701
I don't know why they don't have a website. They should. Spirit Guided Friends finally got a website just recently.

Re: Hi From Portland, Oregon
For those that did not realise Alice Street Church is an SNU affiliate
http://www.churchofalice.org/
Mark you I note that many of the activities and presenters vary from what the SNU would allow in its UK Churches.
Actually one of our early members, who I have not been in touch with for a while, used to live nearby but has moved to Austin Texas now eirefox. I helped with some of her arrangements when she went for a weeks course at the AFC.

Re: Hi From Portland, Oregon
Now that's my kinda church!
Proper fun place with a super website.
Nowhere near enough Palmists plying their trade in the movement. The more the merrier. It aint necessarily evidential but if it gets folk through the doors and talking then some'll likely return for meetings and more.
I bet SNU would not tolerate Alice St church as one of their own it if it located was over here in England though.
