Astrologers and other inhabitants of parallel universes
A Chris French piece, typically against but some of his arguments should stop and make people think a bit harder about how they explain things

Shouldn't that be 'astronomers'....etc?

All his arguments seem to be saying "you are wrong, even though I admit you may be right"

That is why he is a Professor of Psychology at Goldsmiths University of London heading the Anomalistic Psychology Research Unit and we are mere mortals.

This mortal is amused that he implies that Astrology is a new fad, even though it has been around for thousands of years, and continues to evolve and adapt as new discoveries in astronomy are made.

Sceptics like Chris French do have a tendency to amuse, the sad thing is that he is head of that unit - the Anomalistic Psychology Research Unit. This is the latest buzz term to represent an advance from Parapsychology to give it an extra veneer of respectability.
Personally I feel that people heading units like this should be neutral with an open mind for all possibilities.

Hmmm, so he needs to be less fixed and more mutable, astrologically speaking of course, hee hee.

Maybe it would all make sense if we knew his star sign, place, date and time of birth. I have a very good astrologer in the Monday Night Group who could cast his reading.
However, as an astrologer, he states that we are totally wrong about this free will business, our fates and our journey are written in the stars. All we can choose iare the little things. Creates some interesting debates but he is a great bloke.

I would lean towards Silver Birch's opinion on astrology, that it is good for revealing what your tendencies are, and that's about all
