Katy or Katie King?

Just curious Katy, is Katy King pseudonym for Katie King? Or perhaps its just 'chance'?

Dunno. Wasn't he supposed to be Captain Henry Morgan? He was forever popping up at seances. Pirates eh? Can't trust 'em. Reverse apports (they nick sitters wallets and watches).

John King was a spirit control too many mediums, making his first appearance in the 1850s to an Ohio farmer-medium Mr Koons. He controlled many more, the famous Italian medium Eusapia Palladino, direct voice medium Etta Wriedt (during her visits to England), London's Herne and Williams, Mrs Guppy, the Davenport Brothers and many, many more. John King was always a bash and boastful type personality and claimed responsibility for many amazing spirit feats, from apporting the three hundred pound medium Mrs Guppy from her house at Highbury, London, to 61 Lamb's Conduit St., a distance of three miles, to a seance held by Mr Herne and Mr Williams. John King will always remain for me a fascinating spirit control. The question is, where is he today? This pirate needs to sort out the medium wannabes! we see around today Perhaps, apport them to jail, I could give him a few names

That Mrs Guppy as no friend to Florrie Cook. Hadn't a good word to say about her. No change there then as some mediums today seem to think that having a pop at their peers somehow elevates their own status.

I'd happily pay forty quid to a dark show merchant if I thought old Cap' King would come through cutlass and all. Hardly likely though. The only pirates in evidemce would probably be those taking the money at the door.

Probably true although I have never paid a penny to attend any seance apart from Leslie Flint who charged two guineas and then only if the seance was successful. He also refused to take any money from me when during a seance it was revealed that I was temporarily unemployed.

Agreed. I sat with him on a regular basis (sometimes fortnightly, sometimes monthly) for over ten years and still have the tape recordings of those seances.
